I keep waffling on whether or not I am going to post this because I have not, in three abandoned attempts, been able to verbalize why this quote is so important to me. But, because it is so important to me, I am posting it and will return with an explanation once I find one suitable enough.

I am constantly getting told that I am too nice - or too sweet - or that I am setting myself up for people to take advantage of me. Let me first say this - I am not an idiot. I am not a pushover. I will not be taken advantage of. I will, however, treat others the way that I would like to be treated. My motivation is not a reward. My reward is in the doing.

This quote has taken me through some rough times - it has been scribed on my wall in black paint, painted over and it still shows through! Soon enough, it will find it's place again on my wall - and until then, it is written indelibly in my mind...
